Lazy Summer Days

As a little girl, in the grass I laid.
Watching clouds float by, while trees provided shade.

 Time felt like a turtle, moving oh so slow.
During this stage of life, I did not realize that I would grow.

Those perfect summer days were a great time to dream,
Of all the amazing places & things to make my life supreme.

 At the time it felt like a prison, and I was trapped because of my age.
Looking back I realize why, it was simply a life stage.

 The older we get the faster time will move,
And in so many ways our life will improve.

 Time moves very slowly, then to our dismay,
But what would we give, to be that free today?
